Ring Size Guide

Choosing the correct ring size is essential for comfort, security, and long-term wear, particularly for engagement rings and wedding bands. At Ashford & Blake, our rings are crafted using standard UK sizing.

To assist international clients, we’ve provided a full conversion chart including UK, Europe, US and China sizing equivalents.

How to Measure Your Ring Size

Option 1: Measure an Existing Ring

  1. Select a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.
  2. Measure the inside diameter in millimetres (mm).
  3. Match your measurement to the chart above.

For accuracy, measure across the centre of the ring from inner edge to inner edge.

Option 2: Measure Your Finger

  1. Wrap a thin strip of paper or string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark where the ends meet.
  3. Measure the length in millimetres — this is your finger circumference.
  4. Use the conversion chart to determine your UK ring size.

Ensure the strip is snug but not tight.

Professional Sizing Advice

For engagement rings or higher-value pieces, we strongly recommend professional sizing at a reputable jeweller to ensure precision.

Keep in mind:

  • Fingers can expand in warmer temperatures and contract in colder conditions.
  • Wider bands often feel tighter than slim bands.
  • Your dominant hand may be slightly larger.

If you are purchasing a surprise gift and are unsure of the size, selecting a common size (UK L–N for women, UK R–T for men) can be adjusted later if required.

Resizing

Most rings can be resized within a limited range. However, certain designs including eternity rings, tension settings, or fully stone-set bands may have restrictions.
